Morocco *

Morocco is a mystical land.  It is hard to explain, but there are just places like the Djemaa el Fna market in Marrakesh, or the Medina of Fes el Bali, believed to be the largest contiguous car-free urban area in the world, that are simply magical!  No wonder that U2 recorded several songs from “No Line on the Horizon” in Fes.

I visited there with Uli in 2006 and had an amazing journey in the Kingdom of Morocco (المملكة المغربية‎).

Mongolia *

AMAZING!  Mongolia is one of the most beautiful places I have ever traveled to in my life.  You can still taste, smell and feel the history of this great land.  After a week in the Gobi Desert one will look at the stories of Genghis Khan and the Mongolian Empire with awe.  

I was very lucky to have some friends in Mongolia who treated me like family.  My trip there in 2003 will always remain a travel highlight.  As well as my goodbye party with more vodka than anyone should ever drink :)
